Hello Birdie!

Hello Birdie

Hellow Birdie Design Competition And Gala

Every year Uplift Austin hosts a design gala and silent auction showcasing Birdhouses designed by Austin Artists and Architects.  The proceeds go towards their outreach efforts.   Explained on there website as:

UpLift Austin offers an innovative educational program to under-served high schools, introducing students to promising “green” careers, while designing and implementing projects to promote an environmentally sustainable campus.

This year we built this little birdhouse to be auctioned off at the gala.  We called it “Bird’s Eye View”.  It was constructed out of an architectural sample from a previous project.  The original piece was an aluminum louver designed to prevent solar gain in a building.  We think this contemporary design is a fun transformation!  Uplift Austin will hold a silent auction for the 50 or so entries received, so if you would like to own this birdhouse while donating to a good cause you can put your bid in for it at the Gala on Thursday, September 30th.  For more information on the Gala see Uplift Austin’s website here OR to vote for our birdhouse you can do so here.  The Vote For Good website accumulates donations for votes, every vote costs a dollar and each dollar will benefit the children in their programs. Log on and help us win!
